Meet the Artist

Art has always been a way for me to connect—with the world, with memories, and with the people who invite my work into their lives. My journey as an artist wasn’t a straight path. I earned a degree in physics and worked in food safety and software, but I always found myself drawn back to creating. There’s something deeply fulfilling about transforming colors, textures, and emotions into something tangible and lasting.

Growing up in Minnesota, I was surrounded by the beauty of prairies, lakes, and open skies. Those landscapes shaped my artistic voice and deepened my commitment to sustainability. I strive to reduce waste and repurpose materials in both my art and daily life, honoring the nature that inspires my work.

My process is intentional and personal. I take the time to understand the meaning behind each piece, whether it’s an original artwork or a custom commission. I believe art should be more than decoration—it should feel like a part of your story. That’s why I love helping my collectors not just choose a painting, but also find the perfect way to display and integrate it into their world. Whether you’re a longtime art collector, a nature lover, or simply someone looking for a meaningful piece, I’m here to guide you through the process.

Thank you for being here and for supporting original, heartfelt art. I can’t wait to create something special with you.

With love,

Kate

My Artistic Process

  • 1. Inspiration & Concept

Every painting starts with inspiration—whether it's a breathtaking landscape, a fleeting moment of light, or a personal story shared by a collector. I sketch ideas and explore textures and color palettes that will bring the piece to life.

  • 2. Layering & Texture

I love working with layers to add depth and emotion to my paintings. Using acrylics, I build up color and texture, allowing each piece to evolve naturally. Many of my works incorporate organic, flowing elements that reflect the movement and energy of nature.

  • 3. Customization & Connection

For commissions, I collaborate closely with my clients to understand their vision. Whether it’s a painting that captures a special place, a meaningful memory, or simply a piece that brings a sense of peace to their home, I make sure the final artwork feels personal and intentional.

  • 4. Framing & Display

I believe art should feel like a natural part of your space. That’s why I also offer custom or hand-picked frames to complement each piece, considering how it will interact with its surroundings. I’m always happy to offer guidance on how to display and care for your artwork to make it truly shine in your home.
